Nissan North America Inc., a subsidiary of Japan’s Nissan Motor Co., said it will start supplying midsize Pickup trucks to Suzuki Motor Corp.  in 2008 for sale under Suzuki’s brand, as part of their business tie-up.

Nissan North America’s plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, will produce Trucks for Suzuki based on its Frontier midsize pickup, under an original equipment manufacturer basis.

The plant is now making preparations to start production of the Trucks, which will be sold in North America by Suzuki.

In June 2006, Nissan and Suzuki announced a plan to reinforce their business tie-up, including mutual OEM supply of vehicles in Japan and overseas. As part of the deal, the two companies agreed that Nissan will supply light trucks to Suzuki for the North American market, while Nissan will receive subcompact vehicles from Suzuki for sale in Europe.
